Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in the world of intimates manufacturing and distribution. This role supports key accounting functions including cost accounting, AP processing, reconciliations, and audit support—particularly around landed costs such as freight, duty, and brokerage. The ideal candidate brings strong Excel skills, a working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and a desire to grow within a collaborative, product-driven environment. This role reports to the Controller of the company. What You’ll Do Accounts Payable & Cost Allocation
- Enter AP vouchers into the ERP system for freight, duty, inland freight, and broker fees
- Ensure accurate cost allocation to product and inventory records ERP & Inventory Support
- Collaborate with the Import and Product Development teams to maintain accurate product cost data in the ERP system
- Support the in-transit reporting process by reconciling FPOs with receiving reports and verifying landed cost documentation Reconciliations & Reporting
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist in analyzing and reporting operating expenses across departments Audit & Documentation
- Pull and organize supporting documentation for year-end audits, specifically related to freight, duty, and brokerage costs
- Maintain organized backup records for internal and external review Journal Entries & General Accounting
- Prepare and enter journal entries with accuracy and proper supporting detail
- Process manual checks and perform key-offs from accounting systems as needed Cross-functional Support
- Partner with Import, Logistics, Product Development, and Merchandising teams to ensure financial accuracy across workflows
- Support ad hoc projects and team initiatives, including process improvement and system enhancements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required)
- 1-2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or consumer goods
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Understanding of accrual and cash-basis accounting
- Exposure to general ledger processes and journal entries
- Familiarity with landed cost components (duty, freight, brokerage), a strong plus
- Comfortable working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (Blue Cherry experience is a plus)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced setting
