Sr. Accountant Position Available In Beaufort, South Carolina

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Beaufort, South Carolina. This role involves managing key financial operations, overseeing a small team, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The position offers an opportunity to handle diverse responsibilities, including payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of two staff members, ensuring smooth execution of accounting tasks.
• Oversee payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
• Handle all aspects of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Perform reconciliations, including account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare or review financial statements, balance sheets, and other critical financial reports.
• Manage grant accounting and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Execute monthly operating and capital fund subsidy drawdowns to secure funding for programs.
• Oversee procurement activities and maintain inventory control processes. Requirements
• Proven experience in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entries.
• Expertise in payroll systems, particularly ADP.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Understanding of GASB and HUD accounting standards.
• Experience in procurement and inventory control.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
