The purpose of the Sr. Staff Accountant position is to assist the Controller in performing the accounting functions of Bishop Gadsden in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) as it relates to Senior Living/Healthcare industries.
A Typical Day:
Maintain employee and FTE data in coordination with HR and Data Analyst.
Support payroll processing, including W-4s, direct deposits, and deductions.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
Manage inventory reconciliations, EMBARK billing, and collections.
Track project costs and manage fixed asset entries, audits, and depreciation.
Assist with land purchases, tax filings, and vehicle registrations.
Prepare sales tax returns and support construction financial reporting.
Collaborate with the finance team on audits, insurance renewals, and budget tracking.
Address financial inquiries and support department managers as needed.
Requirements
What We Need From A Candidate:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preferred Business Administration Degree)
Minimum three years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting
Background in cost accounting and asset accounting, preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material.
Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees.
