Job Description

Position Description The role of the Staff Accountant will be to support the Controller in meeting the general accounting requirements of the Landmark Companies with an emphasis on equipment reporting and analysis. The position will collaborate with the accounting team and other departments members to achieve stated goals.

Responsibilities Equipment Reporting:

Prepare and maintain monthly fixed assets reports and depreciation schedules for accurate tracking and reporting of equipment.

Equipment Analysis:

Analyze equipment performance and related metrics, and review findings with relevant company personnel to support decision-making.

Equipment Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and insurance requirements, including the timely submission of required filings and documentation.

Financial Accounting:

Reconcile monthly generals ledgers and balance sheet accounts, with a focus on equipment-related transactions.

Budgets:

Support the preparation of annual departmental budgets, collaborating with teams to ensure financial goals are met.

Related Entities:

Take ownership for financial management of three related entities, including posting invoices, recording cash receipts, preparing monthly sales tax returns, and generating monthly financial reports.

Annual Audits:

Assist the Controller and CFO in working with auditors and tax professionals in support of completing the company’s annual audit and tax filings.

Position Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).

Experience:

3 to 5 years of experience in financial accounting. Prior experience in construction or heavy equipment is preferred.

Technical skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP systems and fixed asset software is a plus.
