Friday Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is required, along with 3 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance, including at least 1 year in low-income housing or a closely related area. A Certified Public Accountant designation is desired, and candidates must obtain Fair Housing and Reasonable Accommodation Certifications within one year of employment or as specified by the Chief Executive Officer. Job Duties:
Develop and recommend accounting strategies and departmental policies while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local guidelines in accounts payable, procurement, inventory, capital funds, and payroll. Oversee financial operations, preparing reconciliation reports and managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant accounting, and payroll processes. Maintain and reconcile subsidiary activities to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance of accounting, financial, and budgetary systems with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles while implementing robust internal controls. Manage Capital Fund controls to prevent fund recapture. Produce various financial reports and statements, keeping the Executive Officer and relevant stakeholders informed of the agency’s financial condition.
