Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to financial operations within the service industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze income statements and balance sheets to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes effectively.
- Perform payroll processing and reconcile bank accounts and credit cards to maintain financial accuracy.
- Handle federal, state, and local tax compliance, including withholding and employment taxes.
- Assist in budgeting and oversee collections to support financial planning goals.
- Maintain and update general ledger and subsidiary ledgers for day-to-day financial operations.
- Document and refine accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with management and external clients to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
- Utilize QuickBooks Online and other financial software for accounting tasks and reporting.
- Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or at least five years of relevant experience in the field.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Skilled in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Ability to work efficiently with construction accounting and cost tracking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
