Project Accountant Job Description The Project Accountant role involves preparing journal entries, calculating shipping costs and standard cost of sales, and analyzing production output, including standard hours and other production-related metrics. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing month-end close processes, including data mining, reporting on asset management and financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and reviewing financial results. Complete month-end close processes and conduct data mining for asset management. Report on financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and review financial results. Essential Skills Monthly close process and journal entry preparation. Cost accounting knowledge and general ledger skills. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience in capital investment analysis, product cost analysis, or business proposal analysis. 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and monthly closing activities. Ability to learn new systems quickly and work under tight deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related accounting software. Advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred. Work Environment The work environment is primarily office-based, with cubicles and conference rooms, and occasional visits to the plant floor. You must be onsite at least 3 days a week, with the possibility of 4-5 days depending on business needs, especially for non-local resources. There is an opportunity to work from home up to 2 days a week as business conditions allow. The facility is experiencing substantial growth and increased data analysis demands, with ongoing internal audits and significant capital investment.
