Position Summary:

The Professional, Experienced Accountant will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial accounting functions. This includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience within the service or construction industries, particularly landscaping, is highly desirable but not necessary. You must be a seasoned accountant, knowing how to do all business accounting.

Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.

Accounts Payable:

Oversee the accounts payable process, including vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, maintaining vendor relationships, and employee payroll.

Accounts Receivable:

Manage the accounts receivable process, including customer invoicing, payment tracking, and collections.

Payroll Processing:

Manage and process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Bank Reconciliations:

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

Cost Accounting:

Analyze and report on project costs, providing insights into profitability and efficiency.

Internal Controls:

Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.

Audit Support:

Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.

Software Proficiency:

Utilize and maintain QuickBooks effectively.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, including operations and sales, to understand business activities and their financial implications.

Compliance:
