Grant Accountant 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Lancaster, SC 29720 We are looking for a skilled Grant Accountant to join our team in Lancaster, South Carolina. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work within the government sector, managing financial processes and grant-related accounting duties. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting systems and a strong understanding of compliance and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the financial management of grants, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines. Prepare accurate financial reports and documentation related to grant funding and expenditures. Monitor budgets and provide detailed analyses to ensure effective allocation of funds. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate grant processes and reporting. Maintain and utilize accounting software systems such as Abila MIP to track financial activities. Conduct audits to verify accuracy and compliance with grant terms. Manage cash flow and capital resources associated with grant-funded projects. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for grant-funded initiatives. Ensure timely submission of grant applications and related financial documents. Support the organization in implementing policies related to grant accounting and reporting. Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Abila MIP and ADP. Strong knowledge of auditing practices, budget processes, and capital management. Experience with financial reporting tools such as Bloomberg Terminal and Banner. Familiarity with cash flow management and accounting functions. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data with precision. Excellent organizational and communication skills for coordinating grant activities. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Previous experience in grant accounting or a similar role is highly preferred.
