Overview:
Our recruiting and staffing agency is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial operations of a state government department in Columbia, SC. This long-term temporary position offers the potential for permanent employment with the state. The ideal candidate will have prior accounting experience in a government setting and a strong understanding of public sector financial practices.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements and reports Monitor budgets and expenditures for compliance with state regulations Assist with month-end and year-end closings Review invoices, process payments, and manage accounts payable/receivable Maintain accurate general ledger records and documentation Prepare financial data for audits and assist with audit processes Ensure compliance with state policies, procedures, and financial controls
Qualifications:
