- Accountant II supports the loan accounting systems by performing daily reconciliations and monitoring activities.
Researches and resolves items on key integrity and exception reports. Performs tasks related to the administration of direct note rate pricing. Provides operational and technical support to the Customer Support Center and Associations. Supports high-risk loan accounting processes and various monthly reporting activities. This position also participates in projects involving Association Loan Operations systems, applications, and processes as assigned. What you’ll do Reconciles loan system balances and year-to-date amounts to the general ledger daily and performs adjusting journal entries or loan system corrections as needed. Monitors daily , weekly, and monthly reports for data integrity and works with Associations to correct loans appearing on exception reports. Provides support to the administration of loan direct note rate pricing. Serves as the backup to the production of the Daily Direct Note Rate Sheet and monthly variable rates. Routinely performs backup responsibilities to ensure appropriate coverage of the function. Performs miscellaneous support related to processing direct note rate corrections and verifications. Performs tasks related to monthly, quarterly, and annual shareholder and regulatory reporting. Provides operational and technical support to the Customer Support Center and Associations on areas of responsibility. Supports Associations with nonaccrual loan processes, including the reconciliation of nonaccrual financial accounts between the loan systems and general ledger, nonaccrual contract balances to financial balances on the loan system, and nonaccrual-related statistical entries to financial entries. Participates in planning, testing, and implementation of system fixes, new or modified processes, and reports related to Association Loan Operations. This may require independent or assisted research to gain knowledge of the impacted process or report. What you’ll need Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 3 years of professional-level accounting work experience. Experience with Fiserv DNA or other modern loan accounting systems is a plus. Understands and adheres to GAAP Strong analytical skills and demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Service-oriented with the ability to cooperate and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all association and AgFirst staff. Ability to effectively prioritize and plan work activities to meet deadlines and commitments, and work independently. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Access/SQL databases.
