CFO Job Summary:
McCrory Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our team. The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects. They will collaborate closely with project managers to monitor performance, analyze data and provide insights that support decision making. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers and other team members. This is a full-time, salaried position based in Columbia, South Carolina. Key Responsibilities Transition projects from preconstruction to operations at contract award Review and approve integrations between ERP and Project Management systems Review budgets proactively to identify errors, budget overruns and opportunities for efficiencies Set up and control project-related credit card expenses Charge McCrory vehicles, equipment and indirect overhead against jobs as appropriate Assess job cost completeness monthly and resolve missing job charges with Accounts Payable and the Project Manager Review billings with the Project Manager before submission to owner and accounting Establish and track KPIs around profitability, project gain/fade, contingency usage and project schedule Close out the job with the operations team Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in a related role in construction industry
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management preferred
- Experience with advanced functions in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
