Salary:

$70,000 – $90,000 peryear A bit about us: We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedSenior Accountant to join our team. This is a remote (1 day a weekin Columbia, MD office), full-time permanent position that offers aunique opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals inthe Accounting and Finance industry. The successful candidate willbe responsible for managing all accounting operations, includingmonth-end close, GAAP, and FASB. This role requires a high level ofexpertise, attention to detail, and a strong understanding ofaccounting principles and financial reporting. Why join us? Oversee and manage the generalaccounting functions, including, but not limited to: accountspayable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. 2. Managethe accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accountspayable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer creditsand collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixedasset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, andrevenue recognition. 3. Coordinate and ensure the timely andaccurate month-end and year-end close process. 4. Ensure compliancewith all internal processes and relevant regulations and ensure allcompany financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAPand FASB. 5. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements toensure accuracy and completeness. 6. Collaborate with externalauditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. 7.Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.8. Manage budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, and costcontrol procedures. 9. Identify, investigate, and analyze potentialoperational improvement. Based on findings, make proposals foroperational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.).Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or arelated field required. Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting orfinancial management role. 3. Solid experience with month-endclose, GAAP, and FASB. 4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting,budgeting, cost control principles, and Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles (GAAP). 5. Strong problem-solving skills andthe ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timelyanalyses. 6. High level of integrity, intense professionalism, andstrong work ethic. 7. Strong computer skills, including proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of accountingsoftware. 8. Excellent communication skills, both written andverbal, and ability to effectively communicate with all levels ofthe organization. 9. Ability to work independently in a remotesetting, manage large amounts of data, and manage deadlines. 10.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizationalskills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.
