Job Description

Description We are in search of a Sr. Asset Accountant who will be an integral part of our team in the Higher Education sector, located in Columbia, South Carolina. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity and involves key responsibilities such as overseeing Capital Assets, conducting physical inventories, preparing asset reports, and managing depreciation in the General Accounting department.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage Capital Assets in the General Accounting department.
  • Conduct daily reviews of capital assets for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct physical inventories and prepare detailed asset reports.
  • Manage depreciation and provide insightful analysis on assets and capital projects.
  • Verify and document financial transactions to ensure accurate records.
  • Reconcile capital assets and projects and report on their status.
  • Research and analyze assets and associated capital projects.
  • Prepare both monthly and annual reports on capital assets and projects.
  • Utilize software such as Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for efficient asset and project management.
  • Perform month-end close activities including account and balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. Requirements
  • Profound knowledge and experience in Account Reconciliation is essential.
  • Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is a must.
  • Capability to manage and conduct Bank Reconciliations is required.
  • Proficiency in handling tasks related to the General Ledger is necessary.
  • Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries is crucial.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are needed.
  • Prior experience in Month End Close activities is compulsory.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with Oracle financial software is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP is a strong asset.
