Job Description
Description We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Accountant to join our manufacturing client in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing processes. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify all transactions and balances are correctly recorded.
- Manage general ledger activities, ensuring proper classification and documentation of financial transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are complete.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements
- Proven experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis.
- Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar accounting role is highly desirable.
