Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing financial transactions, overseeing grant accounting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:
- Utilize QuickBooks to accurately record and track the organization’s revenue and expenses.
- Perform monthly analyses and reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Prepare variance reports by analyzing monthly budget-to-actual performance.
- Assist in generating accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Manage the recording and reconciliation of all donations, ensuring accuracy in donor databases and QuickBooks.
- Oversee the processing of electronic payments from federal and state funding sources.
- Ensure proper handling of weekly bank deposits in line with internal control procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to gather and prepare documentation required for grant invoicing.
- Administer the submission of monthly grant invoices through appropriate state and federal portals.
- Support the maintenance of fundraising campaigns and donor management systems, ensuring consistency with the agency’s financial records. Requirements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and general accounting principles.
- Strong experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with grant accounting, including federal and state funding processes.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
- Knowledge of donor management systems and fundraising campaign tracking.
- Experience handling month-end close processes and financial reconciliations.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills for managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and funding source representatives.
