Job Description
Description We are looking for a meticulous and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Roebuck, South Carolina. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and enjoys working collaboratively to meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including timely invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger while ensuring proper documentation.
- Reconcile bank statements and investigate any discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Support audit activities by gathering required documentation and performing fieldwork tasks.
- Collaborate with the team on accounting projects and special initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by supporting tax preparation activities.
- Utilize accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills to streamline financial processes.
- Perform additional job-related duties and contribute to the success of the accounting department. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including experience with formulas and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping methods and general ledger functions.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting and resolving financial data issues.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
