Position Description
Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to be primarily responsible for all accounting functions; including billings, accounts receivable, payroll, and accounts payables of an operating division.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for day to day activities in support of the accounting department. This includes, but is not limited to; preparing financial information, analyzing information to answer questions, and preparing financial information.
Job Responsibilities
All aspects of project billing; including gathering all support documents and producing invoices
Reconciliation of project billings on a monthly basis
Communication with project managers on billings
Handle processing of invoices, including coding and sending out for approval
Reconcile vendor billing and correct any discrepancies
Manage communication with vendors and field questions about payment status
Other projects as assigned
Job Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Prior experience in an industry accounting role (construction preferred)
Must have strong software skills, especially excel, and ability to learn enterprise software. Good communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to learn and help others, and strong initiative.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
