Job Description

Job Overview:

The Accountant of Tech & Fixed Assets Accounting will be a key role in executing on the team’s objective to streamline and simplify accounting for fixed assets and technology expenses. The role will directly support the Manager of Tech Accounting by carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Tech Accounting team, including month-end accounting activities, contract review and coding, as well as supporting team initiatives and projects. The role will coordinate heavily with teammates in Technology, FP&A, and Finance Systems to carry out business needs, and enhance pre-close and close activities.

Responsibilities:

Perform month/quarter/year-end accounting close tasks (journal entries, reconciliations, etc.) for technology expense and labor areas. Perform monthly analysis on balance sheet accounts, including leases, right-of-use assets, property plant and equipment, software, goodwill, and intangibles. Assist in annual audit, SOX controls testing, and quarterly internal control testing (SOX) for the general ledger Analyze JE input data and perform controls to verify accuracy/completeness/classification. Build knowledge of key and material areas of technology expenses, including underlying contracts. Review new and existing technology contracts, analyze details of services, and establish proper GL coding. Perform tasks relating to projects & team transformation initiatives. Requirements:

BA/BS degree in Accounting or related fields 2+ years of professional experience Experience on corporate accounting team reviewing contracts; technology expense experience a plus Knowledge of GAAP requirements for fixed asset and software capitalization, and practical application of the guidance Experience/understanding of finance data system, and ability to query/manipulate/analyze data

Core Competencies:

Strong analytical and organizational skills. Self-starter; ability to execute on assigned tasks and accomplish objectives set forth by manager and team. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Advanced MS Excel and familiarity with other data and BI tools (SQL, Tableau, PowerBI)

Preferences:

CPA license or pursuing Experience in Big 4 public accounting, broker/dealers, or tech company is a plus. Experience with Oracle Financials and EPM Master’s degree is a plus

Pay Range:

$55,988-$93,313/year Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
