Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. This is a long-term contract position that offers a blend of in-office and remote work, providing the opportunity to contribute to key financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and the ability to handle complex financial tasks with precision and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations in alignment with established principles and standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts to support organizational planning.
  • Generate and publish accurate financial statements within designated timelines.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze and summarize account data to provide actionable insights.
  • Calculate taxes, prepare tax returns, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create detailed periodic management reports to inform business decisions.
  • Audit financial transactions and implement robust accounting control procedures.
  • Safeguard sensitive financial information through secure database management and backups.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial policies, regulations, and legislation to ensure compliance. Requirements
  • Proven experience in accounting, with a preference for cost accounting or similar roles.
  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles, corporate finance procedures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Familiarity with sales/use tax knowledge and exemption certificate handling.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
