The Corporate Accountant oversees all corporate accounting functions across the organization. This role maximizes return on financial assets by establishing and upholding financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. By preparing regular financial reporting, forecasts, and other financial data in collaboration with leadership, the position supports the overall strategic growth of the company, while ensuring financial accuracy and visibility for critical decision making throughout the organization.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong understanding of Financial management within a corporate environment Mastery of GAAP principals Previous experience with Financial/property management software Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, leadership, and residents. Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently. Ability to maintain a positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly and quarterly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets Oversee the activities of the cash management, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate tax compliance Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc. Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company’s value Collaborates with for timely financial requests, cash forecasting and opportunities for improvement within the financials of the business Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports Performs all other duties as assigned
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred Minimum of 4 years in a similar position within a mid-sized organization Proven success preparing complex financial reporting at the corporate level with accuracy Preferred experience within the property management industry
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently sit, stand and walk. Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
