What You’ll Do:

Oversee the complete project accounting lifecycle—from setup through closeout—for a diverse portfolio of projects Provide expert guidance on project billings across various contract types, including Time & Materials, Fixed Fee, and Cost Plus Monitor, analyze, and report on project costs, revenues, and profitability to drive informed decision-making Prepare Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, revenue recognition entries, and client-specific financial reports Review and allocate project-related expenses accurately to maintain budget integrity Collaborate closely with Project Managers to keep project budgets and forecasts current and accurate Analyze variance reports, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions Assist with monthly close processes and support annual audit activities related to project accounting Maintain project fee schedules, rate tables, and support cash flow management and collections Develop and document effective project accounting procedures Tackle other duties that help your team and organization thrive

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in professional services such as engineering or architecture Strong knowledge of project-based accounting principles, billing, and revenue recognition Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software (experience with project-based ERP systems is a plus) Solid understanding of contract terms and project lifecycle accounting Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Advanced Excel skills CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred but not required Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while working independently or as part of a team Professional demeanor and a service-oriented attitude Why This Role?
