We are seeking a detail-oriented Entry to Mid-Level Accountant with experience in property management. In this role, you will act as an owner’s representative, auditing financial packets submitted by third-party property management companies to ensure accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and a good understanding of property management financials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with weekly check runs to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
- Review and audit monthly financial packets submitted by third-party property management companies for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Utilize Yardi software to verify property data, run reports, and analyze financial information.
- Ensure proper allocation of income and expenses across portfolios and identify discrepancies or irregularities in reporting.
- Collaborate with property management teams to resolve issues and discrepancies in financial submissions.
- Assist with uploading monthly financials into the company’s database to maintain accurate and accessible records.
- Pull capital expenditure items monthly to track total project spend and budgeting alignment.
- Participate in the preparation of year-end reports and support external audits as needed.
- Assist with monthly bank reconciliations to ensure cash activity aligns with reported financials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on property management or real estate.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, audits, and general accounting principles.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with third-party management companies and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other financial software is a plus.
