Firm Accountant Mid-sized Law Firm 633 Chestnut Street, Chattanooga, TN 37450 Accountant A mid-size law firm is looking for an accountant to join our team. They will support the company by analyzing and preparing various financial documents. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and be able to work independently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare financial statements. Prepare bank reconciliations. Review and analyze firm financial information using Excel. Assist in the development and maintenance of good internal controls. Ability to build rapport with legal team and develop, implement, and drive internal controls/accounting practices that will maximize cash flow and profitability. Prepare and review firm tax returns. Track, review and reconcile all fixed assets to the general ledger. Analyze and prepare Firm 1099’s as well as clients. Reconcile client quarterly payroll reports. Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, trust, estate and foundation and medical plans for multi-state returns Respond to accounting inquiries related to billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and trust accounting. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a staff accountant Bachelor’s degree in accounting Knowledge of GAAP Proficient in Microsoft excel, data entry and accounting software. Can maintain strict confidentiality when handling financial and tax information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a law firm or CPA firm Experience with Coyote Analytics Experience preparing tax returns using CCH Axcess
