Description Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and skilled at managing complex financial tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Conduct account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts, to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee inventory processes, including annual physical inventory counts, analysis, and reconciliations.
- Perform financial analysis to support decision-making and identify trends.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial reporting.
- Utilize SAP and SyteLine systems to manage and streamline accounting operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide detailed reports and analysis to management for strategic planning.
- Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. A Degree in accounting, finance or related field is required. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software, including SAP and SyteLine.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with inventory management, including physical counts and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support financial decision-making.
- Familiarity with general ledger management and balance sheet reconciliation.
