Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#110190) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2025. The Jennings A. Jones College of Business promotes a high-quality, student-centric teaching-learning model. The successful candidate will be diligent, creative, supportive, and adaptable to the ever-changing market. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Teaching a total of five courses each semester both on-ground and online. Examples of courses that may be included are principles of accounting, survey of accounting, and managerial or decision making in accounting and finance. University service or research will not be required. Adapting courses for both on-ground and online formats, ensuring that the student experience is equivalent across modalities. Delivering high-quality instruction by planning and implementing effective learning strategies and environments utilizing a variety of student engagement strategies in the classroom to ensure active student participation. Promoting student success through timely communication, grading, and feedback. Meeting professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College. Required Education Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements: master’s degree in accounting master’s degree in management or business administration with 18 graduate hours in accounting Bachelor of Science in Accounting, currently licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and six (6) years of professional experience Other Desirables Applicants with a CPA, CIA, CMA, CISA, CISP, CFE, or other accounting-related credentials, two years or more of accounting or business work experience, or a proven record of successful academic teaching experience will receive special consideration.
