5 3.5 out of 5 stars 3260 Macon Road, Memphis, TN 38122 Job Overview Working directly with the executive director, accountant, and ministry directors, the Business Manager has responsibility for the Business Office including financial reporting, payroll, cash management, and accounts payable. He/she is responsible for implementing financial management policies within the framework established by the Board. The Business Manager plans and manages a cost-effective system of purchasing, billing, cash receipts, etc. Responsible to Executive Director Example of Duties The Business Manager supports the personnel activities of BHM and BHUA, working together with our accountant to administer/oversee payroll and benefits. And, the Business Manager presents financial reports and annual budgets to the Board of Directors and works to achieve the financial objectives of BHM and BHUA. The Business Manager also has the opportunity to interact directly and regularly with mission volunteers, ministry and school staff, missionary interns, students, their parents, donors, and community residents. Qualified candidates will possess 5+ years experience demonstrating financial, operations, and cash management skills including: Training and Experience First and foremost a love for Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrated management responsibility for an organization or a significant portion of an organization, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Demonstrated significant experience in financial management and accounting.
- -Demonstrated commitment to principles of sound financial control.
- -Knowledge of financial information systems and how to use them effectively.
- -Experience in working with investment consultants.
- Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration systems and processes.
- -Ability to develop and implement long term financial goals.
- -Ability to work collaboratively with the executive director, a board of directors and partnering groups.
- -Demonstrated interest in supporting organizational objectives
- -Cultural sensitivity
- -Willingness to work in a spiritual environment.
- Strong interest in interacting with volunteers, donors, ministry staff, school faculty, parents, and students.
- -Candidates must have an undergraduate degree; MBA or CPA are preferred.
