Job Description
Construction Accountant September Bloom Inc. 118 Seva Lane, McMinnville, TN 37110 We are looking for a skilled and organized Construction Accountant to manage the financial aspects of our residential and commercial construction projects. This role requires strong experience in job costing, billing, and financial reporting, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and collaboration with project managers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain detailed job cost records for all residential and commercial construction projects
- Ability to work and collaborate with different teams and take care of purchasing, invoicing, payments happen on time
- Prepare and issue progress billings (AIA billing format where applicable)
- Track and process subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and retainage..etc.
- Reconcile bills, invoices, credit card transactions and provide regular update to reporting manager and team
- Support project managers with Invoice approvals, budget tracking, change orders, and payment schedules
- Assist in monthly and annual financial closing and reporting
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with contract terms, internal controls, and tax regulations
- Coordinate with vendors, auditors, banks, and insurance providers as needed
- Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, and company expenditures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting, specifically with residential and commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reports, and project-based accounting
- Experience with construction accounting software Quickbooks and Odoo is preferred
- Understanding of AIA billing and construction contract terms
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- CPA or similar designation is a plus, but not required
