Position Overview/Responsibilities for the
Sales Tax Accountant:
Reporting, verification, and filing of sales tax and miscellaneous tax returns in multiple taxing jurisdictions
Ensuring all returns are filed timely and accurately
Assisting, as needed, with audits for the tax types filed and research pertaining to sales, use, and miscellaneous taxes
Coordinating, preparing reports, and filing returns compliant with federal, state, and local jurisdictions
Preparing accounting entries and account reconciliation to reflect filings and balance General Ledger accounts
Required Skills for
Sales Tax Accountant:
Minimum of 2 years of sales tax experience in a corporate, government, or public accounting environment
General knowledge of tax trends and processes
Ability to multi-task in a high-energy environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel (Pivot Tables) and Word
Ability to research, audit, and analyze
Knowledge of sales tax audits
