Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Team Lead to oversee and support our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, strong analytical abilities, and a passion for driving efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. As the Accounting Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, managing day-to-day operations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Supervise, mentor, and motivate the accounting team to achieve departmental goals and deadlines.

Financial Reporting:

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries, reports, and records in compliance with accounting standards and business needs.

Process Improvement:

Ability to identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency. Utilize the same measurements to evaluate success.

Account Reconciliation:

Oversee account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.

Compliance:

Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.

Audit Coordination:

Lead the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.

Collaboration:

Assist team with day to day duties to include billing and freight reconciliation

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a position with department oversight. Strong understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, GP, Excel-knowledge of V-Lookup and Pivot Tables). Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with process automation and accounting system improvements and implementation.
