Assistant Comptroller 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 7875 NW 12th Street, Doral, FL 33126 Position Summary Youth Co-Op, Inc., a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the social and economic conditions of youth, adults, families, refugees and immigrants in South Florida, is seeking an Assistant Comptroller for its Finance and Accounting Department. Reporting to the Comptroller, the Assistant Comptroller supports the overall management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the Agency including the responsibility for preparation of accurate and complete financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Receipts (CR), Budgets (BU), and Accountants. Prepare for the year end fiscal audit and manage all requests from the auditors. Prepare consolidated fiscal reports and variance reports. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes. Gather information for annual tax filings. Assist in preparing annual budget and forecast for the Agency. Formulating internal controls and policies & procedures, managing journal entries, and reviewing and auditing accounting information for accuracy. Research ways to strengthen internal controls and accounting policies. Other special projects assigned by the Comptroller. Bank reconciliation Fixed asset
QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS
in finance, accounting, or related field, MBA/MAC desirable. Experience working within a similarly sized organization. Prior work in a non-profit setting with multiple grants, and /or red book charter school experience is preferred. Experience in operational and financial audits. Self-Starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels within the organization. Proficiency in all Microsoft Suite Applications including MIP (preference) or other accounting software. Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills with ability to multi-task. Detail and deadline oriented. Strength in not for profit grant accounting, and GAAP. Strong documentation and problem-solving skills. Ability to work after hours and weekends. Strong analytical, technology, communication, and organizational skills. five years of experience in accounting or finance, and public accounting. No phone calls please
