Job Summary:
Full-time in-office work schedule required. • Be able to perform multiple tasks and supervise accounting staff. Responsible for daily activities in corrections and housing to include financial reporting, analyzing data, records, track and audit financial information. Ensures that all major projects, month-end, and year end reports are completed accurately and on time. Is a resource to staff with respect to financial information associated with all departmental programs. Qualified candidate’s must-haves: General ledger experience Bank reconciliation experience Preparing journal entries Multitasker Detail and deadline orientated Supervisory experience in overseeing and coordinating the work of administrative staff Weekly functions include but not limited to: Process weekly subsistence payments for corrections clients according to scheduled formulas established by the Department of Corrections and the Director of Finance. Prepare and distributes weekly Balance Sheet and Chart of Accounts report. Prepare and distribute weekly statements. Prepare monthly reports to all corrections programs and contractual entities. Reconcile billing accounts weekly/monthly. Post client’s savings, withholding taxes, FICA, and program costs in GW Connect. Pro-rate program cost when client exits work release program. Prepare recap sheet for case manager when client exits work release program. Prepare and cut check for money due at end of the work release program. Reconcile accounts receivable to the general ledger; prepare journal entry template.
Job Requirements:
Associate of Arts/Science degree, or some college and equivalent work experience. Minimum of three years financial management experience. Subject to alcohol and drug testing.
