The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support the Supervisor of Elections Office. This role requires a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as excellent communication skills Duties Receives and reviews purchase orders, quotes, and contracts for purchases and billing invoices
- Maintains and balances petty cash account
- Monitors postal balances and transfers
- Orders supplies and equipment as required
- Assists managers in compiling quotes for major capital purchases
- Prepares grant applications and expense tracking
- Prepares journal entries
- Maintains and conducts property inventory
- Reconciles credit card statement
- Prepares and submits cash and check deposits
- Creates municipal city election invoices
- Assists in various activities necessary to facilitate elections
- Willing to work overtime hours as needed including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Skills Knowledge of accounting, purchasing, finance, auditing, and expenditure control systems practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of all features of computer applications including Microsoft Suite and Oracle software
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to operate fax machines, copiers, mail machines, and other office equipment,
- Ability to comprehend informational documents including contracts, grants, safety rules, laws, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to perform mathematical tasks used to prepare documents, reports, and statements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to utilize mathematical formulas
- Ability to utilize decimals and figure percentages
- Ability to compute discount, interest, ratio and proportion
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials and the general public
