JOB SUMMARY

The Casino Accounting and Revenue Audit Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the slot revenue, gaming revenue, and/or the non-gaming revenue audit department(s). This includes building a team environment, setting performance standards, measuring and developing the attainment of those standards by department personnel. This position will be responsible for supervising the daily auditing processes and evaluating slot operation, gaming operation, and/or non-gaming operation procedures against the submitted system of internal controls. This person will participate and guide the month-end closing process; review the daily tax submission for accuracy and submit to appropriate personnel; review and submit the daily operating report; will supervise staff responsible for daily audit of slot revenue, gaming revenue, and/or non-gaming revenue; and perform special projects as assigned

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assisting slot operation, gaming operation, and/or non-gaming operation departments in evaluating financial performance and systems utilization. Applying knowledge and understanding of slot, gaming, and/or non-gaming accounting and audit procedures towards the goal of developing, counseling, training and scheduling of auditors. Maintaining the necessary internal controls required to safeguard the property’s assets and integrity, utilizing company guidelines. To evaluate and communicate standard operating procedure violations to the operating areas and implement corrective course of action; ensuring compliance with existing internal and external accounting and auditing policies and procedures pertaining to one or more operational areas. Assembling, auditing, posting and preparing various detailed accounting reports for departmental review and/or incorporate audit information into more complex reports, including month-end general ledger posting, according to established policies and procedures. Checking work and reporting unusual variances and discrepancies via verbal and or written reports; monitoring and reporting all items that do not fall within sound auditing or accounting procedures. Supervise the property’s audits continuously challenging the process for improvement opportunities and develop a strong working team. Supervise the preparation of the daily operating statement and other revenue reports and build controls to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the data therein such that we ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of our reports. Responsible for the documentation, reporting and updating of all department procedures. Review all reports and statements prepared by the operations departments for neatness, completeness, accuracy, and form and ensure that all deadlines are met. Assure timely response to internal and external audit recommendations. Assure that corrective action plans are developed and implemented where needed. Conducts timely performance reviews in accordance with company policies and procedures; provides feedback; coaching and development guidance utilizing a consistent, approachable demeanor while clearly articulating expectations. Ensures that each team member clearly understands and is held accountable for their respective performance expectations. Insure the daily property revenue journal entries and related revenue reports are prepared and posted at month end and reconcile and adjust the month end closing balances to ensure complete and accurate accounting for the period. Meet all internal and external reporting deadlines and coordinates timely document requests from internal audit and the state police. Builds positive working relationships with the operators, internal auditors, and the state police. Establish, design, create, refine and administer audit training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university preferred; CPA or MBA preferred. 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in gaming casino accounting and revenue audit functions. Experience in internal audit a plus. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Must possess an in depth knowledge of internal and accounting control procedures of gaming operations. Knowledge of Bally’s Slot Data System, Table Games Management System, MICROS and the Casino Management System. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access database software. Applicant should be customer service oriented with good communication skills and present a well-groomed appearance. Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team Must be able to effectively mentor, coach, train, develop and motivate the audit staff in order to establish the team as a well-respected resource to the operations department and empower the auditors to add value at every level.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Able to analyze and interpret financial information to identify unusual variances and discrepancies. Able to work at a computer terminal through out the assigned shift and sit for long periods of time. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that requires temporary assignment in the casino environment. Able to bend, reach, carry, stand, and maneuver up and down stairs. Respond to visual and aural cues. Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to operate the following equipment: computers, printers, copier, 10 key adding machine and telephone.
