The Accounting Supervisor reports directly to the CFO and works closely with the Director of Financial Operations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial systems. The Accounting Supervisor will play a key leadership role in managing and optimizing the company’s core accounting functions. Responsibilities include overseeing general ledger activities, managing month-end close procedures, ensuring accurate payroll accounting, and leading reconciliation efforts across multiple accounts. In partnership with the CFO, this role will also be responsible for guiding the transition from cash to accrual accounting. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in the healthcare industry, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and hands-on experience with key financial platforms such as QuickBooks Online, EVV systems, iSolved HCM Payroll, and the Generations Homecare System.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the accounting team (currently 3 staff, with anticipated growth). Lead the company’s transition from a cash-based accounting system to an accrual-based framework in collaboration with the CFO. Manage the end-to-end month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting. Develop and implement standardized accounting policies and procedures (SOPs) to support scalability and efficiency. Perform and review general ledger reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and benefit-related adjustments. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data within QuickBooks Online. Reconcile and integrate financial data across EVV systems, iSolved HCM Payroll, and Generations Homecare System. Partner with payroll and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting of labor costs and service delivery expenses. Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process as needed. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations specific to the healthcare industry. Support financial audits, reporting requirements, and ad hoc projects as directed by the CFO.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA designation with audit experience is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, including management-level responsibilities. Prior experience supervising or leading accounting teams is preferred. Background in home healthcare, healthcare, or elder care industries is required. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential; familiarity with EVV systems, iSolved HCM, and Generations Homecare System is strongly preferred. Solid knowledge of GAAP and expertise in managing the financial close process. Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
