General Accounting Supervisor Peck & Hale, L.L.C. West Sayville, NY 11796 About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor to join our team in West Sayville, NY . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in the day-to-day accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll processing , while also overseeing financial reporting and plant-level accounting activities. Key Responsibilities Cost Accounting functions related to maintaining standard costs for purchased and manufactured items. Track raw materials, labor, and overhead. Prepare Cost Analysis ‘ with cross functional team for Government and Commercial Sales bids. Process and manage Accounts Payable (AP) : input vendor invoices, manage payments, and reconcile accounts. Process and manage Accounts Receivable (AR) : generate invoices, apply payments, and follow up on past-due accounts. Process and manage P ayroll Processing , including timesheets, deductions, and compliance with tax regulations. Maintain general ledger integrity and support monthly and year-end close. Prepare and review internal financial reports. Provide guidance to junior staff or clerical support (if applicable). Ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience (AP, AR, payroll). Prior experience in a manufacturing or plant-based setting is required. Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
