Addison Group is working with a leading distribution company in Philadelphia that is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead a team within its AP department. Job Description:

The AP Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day AP functions related to merchandise, managing a team of processors, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. This role plays a key part in maintaining internal controls and supporting both vendor relationships and interdepartmental collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of 4-6 AP processors handling high-volume merchandise invoices Monitor invoice processing to ensure accuracy, timely payments, and discount capture Coordinate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies related to vendor payments Implement and support automation initiatives within the AP workflow and ERP system Identify and train staff on areas for improvement or system usage optimization Maintain and analyze KPIs to track team performance and provide reporting to leadership Assist with issue resolution, invoice backlog, and escalations as needed Support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with company financial policies Lead process improvement discussions and contribute to internal control development Foster a collaborative team environment and coach staff for ongoing development

Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a distribution or inventory-heavy environment Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity Solid understanding of PO-based invoice processing Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across departments and vendors Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced setting Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
