About the Position
This position is located in Financial and Performance Review. The Auditor II positions is accountable for organizing, leading and executing audits for a State agency or within their assigned function. This position completes audits requiring specialized skills and operates within a framework of professional standards that apply to a specific auditing function (e.g., internal, State, Governmental) to develop a plan, determine scope and objectives, and develop procedures and secure resources needed to complete the audit. Duties also may include auditing internal controls and monitoring compliance with state and federal laws. Some employees may also perform more complex audits from beginning to end under general supervision and guidance. May serve as Auditor in Charge for small audits.

The following skills are exhibited by ideal candidates: Understanding of financial records (accounts payable, accounts receivable, financials, depreciation, etc.) Understanding of accrual accounting and cost reimbursement allocations.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of experience. •
Agency Preferred Qualifications:
Accounting courses totaling at least 24 hours are required. An ideal candidate would also have experience in cost reporting. Because of the nature of the Auditor II position in the Office of Financial and Performance Audit, applicants should have the skills listed below: The following skills are exhibited by ideal candidates: 1. 24 hours of accounting courses. 2. Experience auditing and reviewing work papers of nursing facility cost reports. 3. Medicare reimbursement experience and/or Medicaid reimbursement experience. 4. Understanding of cost reimbursement allocations. The following attributes are minimum requirements above state requirements: 1. 24 hours of accounting courses. 2. Understanding of financial records (accounts payable, accounts receivable, financials, depreciation, etc.) 3. Understanding of accrual accounting and cost reimbursement allocations. 4. Experience supervising at least one (1) employee. 5. Bachelor’s degree 6. 24 hours of accounting courses. 7. A valid driver’s license. 8. Willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Some overnight.
