About the Agency
This position is located in Financial and Performance Review. This Program Auditor I is responsible for conducting program audits, compliance audits, and regulatory audits of program providers. This includes audit planning, field and desk audits, writing audit reports and letters, recoupment of identified overpayments, and oversight of corrective action plans. This level of audit operates on a team and with oversight of senior auditors.
About the Position
The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled.
What you’ll need to be Successful
To be successful, basic investigatory or audit skills as well as proficiency with Word and Excel are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience.

Agency preferred qualifications:

BA degree in Accounting, Administration, Criminal Justice, or other degree related to audit, investigation, or health care administration; OR other bachelor’s degree with at least one year of auditing or investigative experience. A candidate will be considered without a degree only if 4 or more consecutive years of related experience with investigation or audit are demonstrated.
