Job Description
Outpatient Coding Specialist $25/hr 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Salisbury, NC 28147
Schedule :
Monday – Thursday 9-hour day, Friday’s half day
Requirements :
COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) certification is required. CPC is preferred. 1 year of experience
HS Diploma Qualifications :
Coding in multispecialty practices Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and Internet) Sound knowledge of medical terminology Working knowledge of payer policies, CMS policies, local and national regulatory and compliance policies; regular utilization of all available coding resources
Responsibilities :
Follow HIPAA guidelines Identifies coding trends relative to edits/denials/physician feedback Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines Aids in the creation of training and educational coding guidance documents for physicians and associates Abstracts and ensures accuracy of diagnosis, procedure, patient demographics, and other required data elements
