New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27610 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting internal audits, ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards, and providing insights into financial management practices. This role requires a strong understanding of technical accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Auditor will play a crucial role in enhancing the integrity of our financial reporting processes.

Duties Tow Company Responsibilities:

Audit towing tickets, dispatch logs, and billing records for accuracy and completeness. Reconcile accounts receivable with payments received from insurance companies, municipalities, and customers. Verify tow-related charges (e.g., mileage, storage, release fees) are correctly applied and documented. Identify and report discrepancies in invoices, contracts, or customer accounts. Ensure proper documentation for impounded vehicles and auction proceeds. Collaborate with dispatchers and lot managers to track vehicle status and fee assessments. Monitor compliance with local and state towing regulations and pricing caps.

Home Health Care Company Responsibilities:

Audit patient billing records, including visits logged by nurses, aides, and therapists. Verify accuracy of claims submitted to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, CMS, and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT). Reconcile payroll for field staff based on visit documentation and electronic time logs. Detect inconsistencies in patient visit records, care plans, or service authorizations. Prepare monthly reports on revenue, denied claims, and audit findings for management. Collaborate with clinical supervisors and billing departments to resolve discrepancies.

General Duties Across Both Companies:

Conduct internal audits of financial statements, ledgers, and general journal entries. Prepare detailed audit reports with recommendations for process improvements. Assist with external audits, including compiling requested documentation. Monitor and update internal controls to prevent errors and fraud. Ensure timely filing and record-keeping of financial documents. Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and accounting best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of experience in auditing or accounting, preferably in service industries. Knowledge of towing operations and healthcare billing preferred. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
