  PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled and motivated Internal Audit Manager to support our client—a premier American public utilitypany providing critical water and wastewater services across the United States.

This is a remote contract opportunity, with preference for candidates located in the Eastern Time Zone or near Camden, NJ.
Role Overview
As an Internal Audit Manager, you will play a key role in driving the effectiveness of internal controls, supportingpliance initiatives, and ensuring operational integrity. You’ll assess risk, evaluate controls, and lead audit engagements that span operations, finance, andpliance—helping protectpany assets and promote ethical practices.
This role is ideal for auditors with a risk-based mindset and the ability to work independently on diverse audit scopes beyond traditional SOX testing.

Location:

Remote (EST preferred); proximity to Camden, NJ is a plus
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute audits aligned with risk-based methodologies and enterprise risk management (ERM) principles
Evaluate business processes and internal controls to identify improvement opportunities
Conduct operational, financial, andpliance audits across various business functions
Perform SOX testing and support related documentation activities
Assess risks and controls within an integrated business framework
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to resolve audit issues and strengthen controls
Monitor and supportpliance activities tied to thepany’s Code of Ethics
Draft audit reports and contribute to findings and rmendations
Assist in project planning, progress tracking, and issue resolution
Provide consultative support for IT controls and process audits as needed
Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of internal audit experience
Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk assessments, testing, and reporting
Experience evaluating business processes and internal control frameworks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and in teams

Preferred:

Background in a risk-based internal audit department
Exposure to operational andpliance audit planning, not just SOX
Public accounting, corporate audit, or utility industry experience
Experience with multi-subsidiary orplexanizational structures
Familiarity with project management tools or principles
Knowledge ofpliance programs and ethical frameworks

Pay Details:

$50.00 to $100.00 per hour
