Internal Claims Auditor Plattsburgh City School District – PHS 49 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 Typical work activities: 25%) Verifies claims for mathematical accuracy (extensions, additions, and calculations of discounts) (5%) Ensures no duplicate payments (previously paid invoices from vendors have been checked to be sure payment is not a duplicate) (15%) Checks vouchers against purchase orders (5%) Ensures travel vouchers are properly itemized (travel vouchers must contain purpose, date and points of travel and approved rate) (5%) Ensures vouchers for personal service are properly itemized (vouchers must contain purpose, date of service, length of service and approved rate) (25%) Verifies that receipts for goods and services are attached to claims (5%) Ensures late charges have been deducted from vouchers (5%) Verifies that sales tax has not been paid (5%) Ensures mileage and meal claims do not exceed authorization (5%) Verifies that all claims are for proper school district expenditures
