KEY & RACINGGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Internal Auditor, the Auditor is responsible for auditing Batavia Downs Gaming facility and OTB Branch operations, including, but not limited to, live racing, video gaming operations and player tracking to assure compliance with corporate procedures (including VGM regulations), record keeping, and cash handling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESPerform unannounced audits of OTB Branch operations, Live Racing and Batavia Downs Gaming operations.
Periodically observe promotional drawings to ensure drawings are conducted in a manner that is compliant with established rules and drawing protocol. Serve as internal audits observer for promotional drawings as required.
Audit cash balances, including vault cash, ATM cash and instant lottery tickets and submit a written report to the Internal Auditor.
Conduct periodic audits of live racing and Batavia Downs Gaming operations to assure conformity, uniformity, accuracy and accountability.
Conduct follow-up audits to assure deficiencies found in the initial audit are corrected.
Review findings with the Internal Auditor following each audit, follow-up audit, or review conducted.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
ABILITIESKnowledge in accounting and auditing. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEA
two (2) year degree in accounting from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience in auditing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of the foregoing experience and training sufficient to indicate the ability to effectively perform the required duties of the position. Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming Key Employee license and racing license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission.
