JOB SUMMARY
This job executes operational, regulatory and compliance audits and advisory engagements to determine whether Highmark Health and its subsidiaries controls and governance processes, as designed and operated by management, are adequate and functioning. Plans and conducts complex audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing audit criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting the financial status and operating procedures of the organization. Leads and provides guidance to team members, and mentors less experienced team members, prioritizing and assigning tasks to team members within the audit plan. Additionally, reviews work of others to ensure audit is completed in accordance with departmental standards, and ensures that issues are escalated appropriately. Includes the oversight of a group of internal exempt and/or matrixed employees and contractors that serve on the program(s) to deliver solutions for the business. Analyzes complex data and prepares reports on findings and recommends improvements in policies, procedures, and internal controls and assists outside auditors in audits of organization’s operations. Recognized as subject matter expert in field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and provide guidance to teams and mentors staff by creating a positive working environment through the building of solid relationships with team members; monitoring of workloads of all team members; adjustment and redistribution of assignments accordingly to promote work/life quality, the taking into account of team members ‘capabilities and needs and meeting of client expectations. Lead engagement initiation and planning activities for operational, regulator and compliance audits across the Highmark Health Enterprise; including approving audit programs to support the audit objectives of identified audits, identifying and assessing customer needs and acquiring a detailed understanding of business objectives. Conduct execution of multiple engagements in progress at various stages of completion to ensure audit objectives are met, controls within a process are evaluated, and risks appropriately addressed. Formulate engagement conclusions and facilitate customer acceptance of deliverables. Lead resource and project planning strategies, decision making, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. Build and maintain productive relationships with customers throughout the organization. Interacts on a regular basis with business unit leadership and senior leadership throughout the Highmark Health enterprise. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration/Management, Information Systems or related field, or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE
Required 6 years in Public Accounting, Internal Auditing, Consulting, or a comparable position within a Corporate Finance function. Preferred 3•5 years in the Healthcare/Insurance Industry

Pay Range Minimum:
$78,900.00
Pay Range Maximum:
$147,500.00 Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.
