The Assurance Experienced Manager is responsible forsupervising, directing, and reviewing the results through thedelegation of tasks throughout the planning, field work and”wrap-up” stages of an Audit client engagement. In this role, theAssurance Experienced Manager is charged with marketing,networking, and business development within an area of expertise,as well as the responsibility of ensuring engagement profitabilityinvolving billings and collections. Traditionally responsibilitiesof the Assurance Experienced Manager will include advising theclient on various economic and regulatory risks within theirindustry, resolving complex accounting issues, apply GAAP and GAASconsistently within complex situations, writing technicalconsultation memos on

issues, and documenting,validating, testing, and assessing various financial reportingcontrol systems.

Job Duties:
Control Environment:

Applies knowledgeand understanding of the collective effect of various factors onestablishing or enhancing effectiveness, or mitigating the risks,of specific policies and procedures Applies a broad understandingof objectives and components of the overall control environment andorganization, and supervisory controls Validates and assesseseffectiveness of internal control over financial reportingIdentifies and communicates to management and audit committeesuggestions to improve client internal controls and accountingprocedures Identify and delegates functions of the audit to theauditor in charge as deemed appropriate Supervise the work of auditteam and review workpapers and conclusions preferably onsite duringaudit field work Provide on-the-job-training to the engagementstaff during audit field work

GAAP:

Applies knowledge andunderstanding of governing principles; applying these principles toclient transactions; and documenting and communicating anunderstanding and application of these principles Identifies andconsults with clients on the impact of new accountingpronouncements Monitors and communicates important professional,industry pronouncements Presents and discusses alternativegenerally accepted accounting principles and arguments for/againstsuch alternatives Drafts complex financial statements and relatedfootnote disclosures and effectively communicates these to clientIdentifies complex accounting issues and forms and documentsresolution, seeking counsel of BDO technical experts as needed

SECand PCAOB:

Applies knowledge and understanding of SEC regulationsand PCAOB guidelines, and documents and communicates theapplication of these principles Reviews SEC filings, includingMD&A, financial statements, and disclosures for appropriatenessin form, content, completeness, and accuracy, and ensures thatquarterly reviews are properly performed Reviews requiredcommunications to the client and Audit Committee, ensuring theircompleteness, accuracy, and compliance with Firm and professionalguidelines Reviews Section 404 internal control audit work allnecessary checklists to ensure their completeness and compliancewith Firm and professional guidelines Ensures compliance withengagement independence requirements and consults internally asneeded

GAAS:

Applies knowledge and understanding of professionalstandards; application of the principles contained in professionalstandards; and the ability to document and communicate anunderstanding and application of professional standards on anengagement Applies a thorough knowledge of professionalstandards/practices, including GAAS and PCAOB in performing andsupervising work Provides guidance to others and affirmsconclusions made by others Communicates matters required to bereported to the Audit Committee/Board and those charged withgovernance Applies the use of efficiency tools such as statisticalsampling, CAATS, etc.

Methodology:

Applies knowledge andapplication of BDO standards that guide effective and efficientdelivery of quality services and products Conducts detailed reviewto assure audit is completed in accordance with assurance manualstandards Prepares or reviews required communications to managementand audit committees, ensuring timeliness and completenessRecommends appropriate outcomes to critical issues Initiates andprepares client acceptance/retention procedures where appropriatePlans the audit process and oversees the execution of procedureswith quality, efficiency, and completeness despite pressures ofdeadlines. Executes proper BDO methodology including but notlimited to proper archiving procedures Considers Sarbanes-Oxleyrules in understanding and executing service plans for combined 404and financial statement audits for public clients

Research:

Appliesmethodology used to seek or maintain information from authoritativesources and to draw conclusions regarding a target issue based onthat information Defines methodology to conduct research projectsand completes in a timely manner Applies comprehensive knowledge ofall appropriate research tools and draws conclusions based uponappropriate research Prepares memo supporting research/conclusionsand consults with others if appropriate Presents issues to RTD orconcurring reviewer effectively and accurately Other duties asrequired

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for supervisionof Associates and Senior Associates on all projects Review workprepared by Associates and Senior Associates and provide reviewcomments Act as a Career Advisor to Associates and SeniorAssociates Schedule and manage workload of Associates and SeniorAssociates Provide verbal and written performance feedback toAssociates and Senior Associates Teach/coach Seniors and Associatesto provide on the job learning

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree, required; major inAccounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred Master’s inAccountancy, preferred

Experience:

Six (6) or more years of priorrelevant audit experience and/or public accounting, privateindustry accounting or consulting/professional services experience,required Prior significant supervisory experience, requiredIndustry expertise in one or more assurance specialty, preferred

License/Certifications:

Active licensed US CPA, recognized activeInternational Equivalent or unique qualification as defined byBDO’s Assurance Licensing Policy, required If active internationalequivalent or unique qualifications, required to obtain an activeUS CPA license within approved timeframe as defined by firmlicensing requirement guidelines

Proficient with theMicrosoft Office Suite, preferred Experience with assuranceapplications and research tools, preferred
