Job Description
Estimating Supervisor 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Gordon, GA 31031 Eagle Railcar Services is seeking an AAR Estimating Manager who will be responsible for conducting in-coming, in-process and outbound inspections of railcar repair services. This individual determines materials required for repairs and estimates repair costs based on AAR regulations and customer specifications. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance profitability and growth. Responsibilities Oversee the estimating process and requirements to complete the specified railcar repairs. Participate in assessing the condition of railcars and determining their ability to meet compliance standards. Prepares and/or reviews estimates of repair costs, including parts, materials, and labor for submittal to customers. Consults with customers regarding repairs and reviews final billings. Requisitions repair parts and materials; obtains quotes from vendors or subcontractors. Prepares and maintains records and documentation pertaining to repairs to include invoices, AAR billing repair cards, and testing documentation. Requirements Knowledge of Association of American Railroads (AAR) and Eagle standards and regulations applicable to the fabrication, repair, and operation of railcar repairs Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records. Ability to interface effectively with shop personnel and customers. Familiarity with financial and project management principles In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset Proficient in relevant software
Experience and Education:
BSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant discipline preferred. Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is preferred. 3-5 years’ experience with
