The primary purpose of the Collision Estimator at IN Collision is to accurately assess vehicle damage, prepare thorough repair estimates, and ensure a smooth, efficient repair process for our customers and team.

This includes:

inspecting vehicles, writing estimates, communicating with customers and insurance companies, and supporting the shop team to keep repair jobs on track for on-time delivery.

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE FOR OUR ESTIMATORS
Damage Inspection & Assessment:

Inspect vehicles to identify all collision damage (external and internal) and document the findings.

Estimating Repairs:

Prepare detailed repair estimates using CCC One, Mitchell, or Audatex estimating software, including accurate parts, labor, and material costs.

Customer Communication:

Meet with customers to explain damage findings, outline repair plans and timelines, and answer any questions with empathy and clarity.

Insurance Liaison:

Work with insurance adjusters to review damage, negotiate and obtain approval for repairs or supplements, and ensure estimates meet insurance requirements.

Repair Planning:

Create work orders and collaborate with collision technicians to plan and prioritize repairs, ensuring all needed parts and procedures are clearly communicated.

Parts Coordination:

Coordinate the ordering of replacement parts and materials, working with vendors to ensure correct parts are received in a timely manner for each job.

Progress Monitoring:

Monitor repair progress on all active jobs and proactively provide updates to customers (and insurers as needed), especially if any changes or delays occur.

Quality Control:

Perform post-repair inspections to verify all damage has been properly repaired and that the vehicle meets our high quality standards before delivery.

Documentation:

Maintain thorough documentation for each repair, including initial estimates, supplemental estimates, photos of damage, repair notes, and all customer/insurance communications.

Customer Service & Delivery:

Provide a 5-star customer experience throughout the process

  • ensuring the customer is satisfied and understands the repairs performed.

Estimating Software Skills:

Proficiency with CCC One, Mitchell, and Audatex estimating systems is required . You must be able to efficiently write and revise estimates using these platforms. ✓

I-CAR/ASE

Certifications (Preferred): I-CAR and/or ASE certifications in collision estimating or related areas are highly valued. Having these certifications (or working towards them) will help you stand out. ✓ Attention to
