Position Summary:

A Branch Service Manager’s responsibility ismanaging the shop floor and handling minor shop administrativetasks that are the result of preventative maintenance and repairs.

The branch service manager oversees the maintenance supervisorand/or technicians to assure the location aligns businessobjectives and customers’ demands. This position is located at thePenske facility located at 136 Neelytown Road in Montgomery, NY.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Manage preventative maintenancescheduling, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Listen to andresolve customer complaints regarding services, products, orpersonnel
  • Hire, train, and evaluate personnel
  • Assure that eachdirect report understands the company objectives
  • Confer withcompany officials to develop methods and procedures to increasesales, expand markets, and promote business
  • Direct and superviseassociates engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cashreceipts, or performing specific services, such as pumping gasolinefor customers
  • Provide staff with assistance in performingdifficult or complicated duties
  • Plan and prepare work schedules,and assign associates to specific duties
  • Attend company meetingsto exchange product information and coordinate work activities withother departments
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports formanagement and budget departments
  • Formulate pricing policiesaccording to profitability requirements
  • Other projects and tasksas assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years ofprevious work experience in diesel shop maintenance required
  • Atleast 1 years of supervisory experience required
  • AssociatesDegree (business or technical) or Vo-Tech Graduate preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access,and PowerPoint required
  • Strong written/oral communication andpeople management skills required
  • The associate will be requiredto understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines,rules, regulations, or other information established by Penskemanagement
  • The associate must be able to perform all workadhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenancepolicies; including but not limited to the correct selection anduse of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and establishedbest safety practice.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is anessential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary,work the required schedule, work at the specific location required,complete Penske employment application, submit to a backgroundinvestigation (to include past employment, education, and criminalhistory) and drug screening are required.

This position isregulated by the Department of Transportation or designated assafety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in aconstant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.

Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for theirown safety, as well as the safety of others.

  • The associate is required to use theirhands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle,feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • Theassociate must be able to work safely at heights using applicableladders and elevated working platforms.
  • The associate must beable to safely work in all weather conditions.
  • Given the frequentmovement of large trucks through the workplace, the associate mustbe able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the workenvironment.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/ormove up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to100lbs/45kg.
Pay:
