Position Summary:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall performance, growth, and profitability of the branch, with a strong focus on operational excellence, member satisfaction, and team leadership. This role oversees all aspects of daily branch operations including member service, lending, product sales, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to branch staff through goal setting, performance management, and regular team and individual meetings. Motivate staff to achieve individual and team sales goals using coaching, observations, and performance evaluations. Promote a culture of service and sales by educating members and recommending relevant products and services. Ensure branch participation in “See-You-Upfront” time, aisle walks, and PA announcements to increase visibility and engagement. Manage and track monthly referral and cross-sell performance to meet growth and profitability objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and associates to foster collaboration and drive member acquisition. Identify and nurture new business opportunities while deepening relationships with current members. Ensure all operational procedures are followed, including daily balancing, resolving discrepancies, maintaining security protocols, and completing audits. Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Customer Identification Program (CIP). Represent and promote the mission, vision, and core values. Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational goals.

Performance Expectations:

Deliver exceptional member experiences and ensure staff consistently meet service expectations. Maintain a fully trained, qualified, and engaged team. Meet or exceed branch financial and sales targets. Actively identify and communicate opportunities for operational improvements to senior management. Lead by example in professionalism, member service, and team collaboration.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

In-store retail branch environment with high foot traffic. Must be able to interact face-to-face over a counter and stand or walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs Must be able to navigate store areas and engage with customers throughout the facility. Required to wear branded apparel to maintain a consistent, professional image in the store.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in retail banking or branch management, with a strong record of team leadership and customer service. Credit union experience preferred. Strong leadership and coaching abilities. High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Initiative-driven, team-oriented, and solutions-focused. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with credit union products, services, and core banking systems preferred. Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including Saturdays (normal branch). Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to handle detailed work accurately and independently.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in financial services management will be considered in lieu of a degree.
